Great buy soft compound old school touring bike brake shoes. Buy spares for the long haul journey. These are great. They are small and unbranded, look nice on 80s road race bikes. They have the soft gray compound and work fine. I like the old steel rectangular boxes the shoes are housed in, for the way a mini wrench can be used to steady them. I changed the mounting nuts for Allen nuts off the old set. These have the pleasant squish and donât grind like hard pads. Wore out FAST. Possibly defective or counterfeit. Wore half way through in about 20 miles of riding. They were installed and adjusted correctly. I wasn’t doing some alpine descent or anything like that, just tooling around metro Boston. We have no alps, I checked. Total crap – doesn’t stop your bike – dangerous Like many other who ordered these brake pads I have an old three speed bike with old brake pads that no longer grip the rim.
