Mountain Bikes – There are two general categories of mountain bikes, full-suspension mountain bikes and hardtail mountain bikes.
Full-suspension mountain bikes have shock absorbers on both the front and rear wheels making them more suitable for rough terrain, tracks and moderate jumps. They are generally heavier and more expensive than hardtail mountain bikes, which have suspension shocks on only the front wheel.
Examples of full-suspension mountain bikes include the Diamondback 2013 Recoil 29’er Full Suspension Mountain Bike, Mongoose Stasis Expert 26-Inch Full Suspension Mountain Bicycle, K2 Base Sport Full Suspension Mountain Bike, Schwinn Delta Sport Full Suspension Unisex Bike, and Mongoose Status 2.4 Full Suspension Bicycle.
The hardtail mountain bike is adaptable to more difficult trails and technical riding as well as pavement and road work.
Examples of hardtail mountain bikes include the Mongoose Impasse HD Mountain Bicycle, Cube Attention 26 Hardtail Mountain Bike, and Marin Pioneer Trail Hardtail Mountain Bike.
