About Mongoose
Founded in 1974 in a Southern California garage, Mongoose has always been an innovator. From the company’s initial cast-magnesium MotoMag wheels to its current crop of BMX, mountain, and pavement bikes, the Mongoose name has been synonymous with bicycle performance. Mongoose builds specifically for riders, which is why the company’s BMX designers aren’t wasting time watching reruns on ESPN2. Instead, they’re constantly testing their new designs at the park, on the track, and on the hill. This continuous experimentation is what drives Mongoose to cook up things like the Front Porch head tube, which lets you fine-tune the handling on Black Diamond series mountain bikes, or Freedrive suspension technology, which eliminates pedal bob and provides a super-efficient full suspension. Mongoose bikes don’t just push the limits; they set new ones.

Michelle M. Marciniec "M. Marciniec" says:

Assembly problems Unless you are mechanically handy, do not buy a bike in a box. Also, the wrong pedals were sent in this box apparently they were 1/2″ instead of 3/8″ threads. I found this out when I went to pay $40 to have this bike assembled. We like the bike OK, but it cost quite a bit to have assembled and the pedals were wrong.

Jane Smith says:

Very poor craftsmenship I had to send this bike back because the holes for the pedals to attach to the bike were not drilled large enough for them to fit through! I did not bother to replace it after that. Schwinn was good about the return though, good customer service.

Thomas J. Tuttle says:

Mongoose Raid This bike was very easy to assemble. I had an issue with the back rim; but, with the excellent costomer support I had a new rim in just two days.
